Pre-wedding · Officer
We started J Y Productions in 2018 and work from our studio in Beaconsfield, just a few minutes from Officer. That makes Officer one of the easiest places for us to plan a pre-wedding session, and it has a lookout with views that surprise most couples.
J Y Productions is the two of us, Jay and Yesha, photographing and filming couples since 2018. We know what it is like to feel awkward in front of a camera, and we know how to fix it. See our latest pre-wedding work at @j.y_productions.
A lookout at golden hour gives a sense of space that is hard to find in the suburbs: big skies, long views and warm light on your faces. Wetlands and a short woodland walk add softer, earthier options nearby.
We plan the session around sunset and keep the walking short, so you arrive at the best spot fresh.
What an Officer session looks like:

Start with what you love. If you picture soft light through trees, choose a park or garden. If you want water and reflections, a lake at sunset. If you want something urban and bold, a city laneway or plaza.
In Officer, flowing fabrics look beautiful against the wide skyline from the lookout.
Outfits matter as much as location. Choose clothes you feel wonderful in, and bring a second look if you would like variety. We are happy to talk colours and styling before the day.
Think of it as an evening out together that happens to be photographed. We arrive early in Officer to check the light, then meet you with a simple plan: a warm-up, a few classic portraits, then candid walking and talking shots. Bring water and comfortable shoes for the walk between spots, and save the fancy shoes for the frames.
Tell us where you are thinking of shooting and when. Reach us through the contact page, on +61 435 222 666 or at Hello@jyproductions.com.au. Studio hours are Monday to Friday, 10am to 7pm.
Securing your date: a 10% retainer once the plan is agreed.
When you see them: a sneak peek within 2 days, then the complete gallery within 14 days.
Most couples do their pre-wedding session a few months before the wedding, so the photos are ready for invitations, a welcome sign or a slideshow at the reception. Earlier is fine too, especially if you want a particular season.
Sunset times shift a lot through the year, so we time the lookout part of the session for your date.
Officer District Park on Lansell Avenue has a hilltop lookout at its highest point, with views over southern Cardinia towards Western Port. The paths to the lookout are accessible, and the park is being built in stages, so we check what is open before your date.
Aspect Wetlands, on the corner of Bridge Road and Cardinia Road, has paths around the water and lots of birdlife. Reeds and still water make soft, natural frames.
EA Owen Reserve on Dickie Road offers a short bushwalk through woodland, which suits couples who want an earthy, Australian feel.
These are nearby public places couples consider; we are not claiming past shoots at any of them.
The paths are accessible, so it is manageable in shoot outfits.
It is being built in stages. We check which areas are open before your session.
Not at all. Most couples feel that way at first. We guide you gently, and within a few minutes you forget we are there.
Yes. Photo and film are both available for pre-wedding sessions.
Of course. Many couples do, which is a good reason to shoot a few months before the wedding.
