Pre-wedding · Narre Warren
Narre Warren is around 15 minutes from our Beaconsfield studio, and it has some lovely water for a pre-wedding session. Ornamental lakes with a fountain, a large bush-ringed lake that feels miles from the suburbs, and wetland trails for a relaxed walk.
We are Jay and Yesha, the husband-and-wife team behind J Y Productions. We started the business in 2018, we work from Beaconsfield in South-East Melbourne, and we speak English, Hindi and Gujarati. Recent couple sessions are on our Instagram, @j.y_productions.
Water is one of our favourite backdrops. On a still evening, trees reflect perfectly, and the light bounces softly onto your faces. Around Narre Warren you can choose manicured lakes or wild bush, depending on the feel you want.
We plan a short route with a few different angles, so you get variety without a long walk.

Golden hour, the last hour or so before sunset, is our favourite time for pre-wedding sessions. The light is warm and soft, and everyone looks good in it. Early mornings are lovely too, with quieter parks.
Around Narre Warren, soft colours suit the lakes, while earthy tones blend beautifully with the bush.
Bring a traditional outfit and a casual one if you want two very different feels in your gallery.
The session starts slowly. A short walk, a few simple poses, a little teasing to break the ice. Once you relax, we move to the best light and the most interesting corners we have picked out around Narre Warren. We keep an eye on hair, dupattas and collars so you do not have to, and we always leave time at the end for one last golden frame.
Send us your ideas for Narre Warren, your wedding date and the look you love. Use the enquiry form, call +61 435 222 666 or email Hello@jyproductions.com.au. We reply within 24 to 48 hours.
Securing your date: a 10% retainer once the plan is agreed.
When you see them: a sneak peek within 2 days, then the complete gallery within 14 days.
We suggest booking your pre-wedding session at the same time as your wedding coverage, then choosing a date a few months before the big day. Autumn colours and spring blossom are popular, so get in early if you have a season in mind.
For reflections, we watch the forecast for a calm evening close to your date.
Berwick Springs Park in Narre Warren South has two ornamental lakes, one with a fountain, plus wetlands and paved paths. A 2.5 kilometre circuit loops the main lake, so there are plenty of angles without walking far.
Lysterfield Lake, in Lysterfield Park, is a large lake with a mostly flat gravel trail around it and native bush on every side. It feels much further from the suburbs than it is. Dogs are not permitted in the park.
The Hallam Valley Trail runs through native wetlands from Narre Warren towards Berwick, and suits a relaxed walking session.
These are public places couples often consider; we are not claiming past shoots at any of them.
No, dogs are not permitted in the park. Berwick Springs Park may be a better option if your dog is coming.
It is mostly flat gravel, so it is manageable, though we only use part of it.
Often, yes, depending on the location. Some parks do not allow dogs, so we check when we plan.
Outfits you feel wonderful in. Bring a second look if you would like variety, and send us photos beforehand if you want advice on colours.
