Newborn & Family · Pakenham
Our studio in Beaconsfield is about 15 minutes from Pakenham. That puts a calm studio session, a home session or a family afternoon at a local reserve all within easy reach, without a long drive for a baby only days old.
We are Jay and Yesha, a husband-and-wife team, and we have run J Y Productions since 2018. We work from our studio in Beaconsfield, we speak English, Hindi and Gujarati, and you can see our latest baby and family sessions on @j.y_productions_motherhood.
We photograph newborns in your Pakenham home or at the studio. Either way the session is baby-led, with time for feeds, changes and plenty of cuddles.
Grandparents often play a big part in the first weeks of a baby’s life, so it is lovely to include them. We usually plan a few photos with them at the start, while everyone is fresh, and keep the groups short.
What a Pakenham session looks like:
Pakenham has reserves with nature play, boardwalks and flat lake paths, which makes family sessions with little ones easy and fun.
For the first days, many Pakenham families choose home so nobody has to travel. The studio is a short drive if you want a set-up space and a classic look.
For a home session with grandparents, it can be easiest for them to drop in for the second half.
Message us with your due date and a little about your family, including any big brothers, sisters or pets. We will come back within 24 to 48 hours with options for Pakenham. You can enquire online, call +61 435 222 666 or email Hello@jyproductions.com.au.
How booking works: enquire, have a quick call with us, then a 10% retainer secures your booking.
Your gallery: 20 to 30 edited photos plus a 30-second film.
Timing: sneak peek within 2 days, complete gallery within 14 days.
Newborn: the first 5 to 14 days are ideal. Babies this young still curl naturally into those sleepy, tucked-up shapes and settle through most of the session. Get in touch at around 20 to 30 weeks of pregnancy, and we hold a window around your due date. Message us once your baby arrives and we confirm the exact day.
Cake smash: 11 to 12 months is the usual time. Milestones: 6 to 10 months suits sitting-up portraits.
If you want an outdoor family session in Pakenham as well, a warm, still evening by the lake is worth planning for.
Deep Creek Reserve, at the end of Cameron Way, has an all-abilities Eco Play space with water play, wetland boardwalks and sensory gardens. Kids can explore while we capture real moments.
Lakeside Park, off Lakeside Boulevard, has a flat path around the lake, playgrounds and benches. It is pram friendly, which helps if you have a baby in tow.
These are local public places families often consider; we are not claiming past shoots at either.
Yes, if water play is on the cards. We usually take the photos first and let them play afterwards.
Of course. Three generations together is a photo you will always be glad you took.
Yes, and we encourage it. Let us know who is coming when you book so we can plan the groupings in advance.
That is completely normal, and it is why we allow plenty of time. We take breaks, feed, cuddle and try again. Nobody is watching the clock.
Yes. Milestone portraits suit 6 to 10 months and cake smash sessions suit 11 to 12 months.
