Newborn & Family · Officer
Officer sits right next to Beaconsfield, so our studio is only a few minutes away. For a family with a brand new baby, that is about as easy as it gets: a short drive, a warm room, and home again before the next big feed.
Behind J Y Productions are Jay and Yesha. We founded the business in 2018, our studio is in Beaconsfield, South-East Melbourne, and we are happy to chat in English, Hindi or Gujarati. For a look at recent newborn sessions, visit @j.y_productions_motherhood.
Whether you choose the studio or your home, we keep things slow and calm. The baby sets the pace, and we fit the photos around feeds and cuddles.
Big brothers and sisters can feel a bit left out when a new baby arrives. Before the session, talk to them about their important job in the photos. On the day, we photograph them first and give them simple tasks, like holding the baby’s hand or giving a gentle kiss.
What an Officer session looks like:
Officer’s newer parks are great for family sessions, with adventure play and open space to keep older kids moving. Moving kids make natural, joyful photos.
Being so close, many Officer families choose the studio for convenience. Home is the right pick if you want to stay put during those first days.
We never force a pose. If a sibling is not in the mood, we simply try again a little later.
Message us with your due date and a little about your family, including any big brothers, sisters or pets. We will come back within 24 to 48 hours with options for Officer. You can enquire online, call +61 435 222 666 or email Hello@jyproductions.com.au.
Booking: after a short call, a 10% retainer holds your newborn window.
What you receive: 20 to 30 edited photos and a 30-second film.
Delivery: a sneak peek within 2 days and the full gallery within 14 days.
Aim for the first 5 to 14 days after birth. That is when newborns sleep deeply and fold into those tiny poses parents love. Reach out at 20 to 30 weeks pregnant and we will pencil in a window around your due date, then lock in the day once your baby is here.
Later milestones work too: 6 to 10 months for sitting-up portraits and 11 to 12 months for a cake smash.
Living next door to the studio means shifting your newborn session by a day or two is rarely a problem.
Officer District Park on Lansell Avenue is a regional adventure and nature park with a hilltop lookout, accessible paths and a wetland area. It is being built in stages, so we check what is open before your session.
EA Owen Reserve on Dickie Road offers a short woodland bushwalk for a quieter, earthy look.
These are nearby public places; we are not claiming past shoots at either.
We photograph them first, keep it fun and give them a job. If they are not in the mood, we wait and try again.
It is being built in stages, so we check which areas are open before your family session.
Yes, and we encourage it. Let us know who is coming when you book so we can plan the groupings in advance.
No. We need one spot with decent window light and a bit of floor or bed space.
