Newborn & Family Photographer in Beaconsfield

Bringing a newborn anywhere can feel like a big outing. For Beaconsfield families it is a short one, because our studio is right here in the suburb. Pack the nappy bag, drive a few minutes, and you are inside a warm, quiet room set up and waiting for you.

We are Jay and Yesha, a husband-and-wife team, and we have run J Y Productions since 2018. We work from our studio in Beaconsfield, we speak English, Hindi and Gujarati, and you can see our latest baby and family sessions on @j.y_productions_motherhood.

Newborn sessions at our Beaconsfield studio

Inside the studio everything is ready before you arrive: the room is warm, the setups are prepared and there is a comfortable place to feed. We follow your baby’s lead from there. Tiny fingers, wrinkly toes and a yawn that takes over the whole face are the details we watch for.

Parents and siblings are part of it too. We love a few frames of mum and dad holding the baby close, and older brothers or sisters meeting the new arrival properly for the camera.

What a studio session looks like in practice:

  • A short trip home afterwards, which matters when everyone is tired.
  • A private, calm space where you can feed and settle without an audience.
  • Warmth and calm come first. A settled baby makes for a relaxed session for everyone.
  • You see a sneak peek within 2 days and the full gallery within 14 days.
  • We allow around 2 to 3 hours, so a long feed or a cuddle break never puts the session behind.
  • Every newborn session includes a 30-second film as well as your photos.

Family photos in and around Beaconsfield

As your baby grows, an outdoor family session is a lovely next step. We keep these playful, with games and races across the grass, because real laughter beats a forced smile every time.

Why families choose our family sessions

  • Games and silly noises rather than stiff, posed smiles.
  • Plenty of room for kids to run between frames.
  • Grandparents welcome in the group photos.
  • Sessions planned around naps and snack times.

Studio session or in your home?

Because the studio is local, many Beaconsfield families choose it for the convenience and the ready-made setups. Home is the better choice if you would rather not move a newborn at all, or if you want photos in the nursery you have prepared.

Our honest suggestion: studio if you like a clean, classic look; home if you want the photos to show the place your baby is growing up.

Book your session

Send us your due date or your baby’s age and we will check availability for Beaconsfield. Use the enquiry form, call +61 435 222 666 or email Hello@jyproductions.com.au. Studio hours are Monday to Friday, 10am to 7pm, and we aim to reply within 24 to 48 hours.

Booking and delivery

Booking: after a short call, a 10% retainer holds your newborn window.

What you receive: 20 to 30 edited photos and a 30-second film.

Delivery: a sneak peek within 2 days and the full gallery within 14 days.

When to book

Newborn: the first 5 to 14 days are ideal. Babies this young still curl naturally into those sleepy, tucked-up shapes and settle through most of the session. Get in touch at around 20 to 30 weeks of pregnancy, and we hold a window around your due date. Message us once your baby arrives and we confirm the exact day.

Cake smash: 11 to 12 months is the usual time. Milestones: 6 to 10 months suits sitting-up portraits.

Being close to the studio makes the newborn window easy. If your baby arrives early or late, shifting the day is usually a simple conversation.

Around Beaconsfield

Wilson Botanic Park in Berwick is about 10 minutes from the studio. It has lakes, lawns and a playground, which helps keep children happy between photos. It is a public garden families often consider, not a place we claim as a past shoot.

For newborns themselves we stay indoors, in the studio or at home, where it is warm and calm.

Why families book us

  • No long wait. Sneak peek in 2 days, full gallery in 14.
  • A film in every session. Every newborn booking includes a 30-second film as well as the photos.
  • A team of two. Jay and Yesha work together. One of us looks after the camera and the light while the other helps settle the baby or keeps a toddler laughing.
  • Easy access. The Beaconsfield studio is accessible for people with physical disabilities, handy when grandparents visit.
  • Three languages. We speak English, Hindi and Gujarati, so the whole family can join the conversation.

Frequently asked questions

What should we bring to the studio?

The usual baby essentials: nappies, wipes, a spare outfit and whatever helps with feeding. Simple outfits in soft, solid colours suit parents best.

Where is the studio?

In Beaconsfield, South-East Melbourne. We share the address and parking details when you book.

What if our baby will not settle?

That is completely normal, and it is why we allow plenty of time. We take breaks, feed, cuddle and try again. Nobody is watching the clock.

How many photos will we get?

20 to 30 edited photos plus a 30-second film. A sneak peek arrives within 2 days and the full gallery within 14 days.

Can grandparents and older children come along?

Yes, and we encourage it. Let us know who is coming when you book so we can plan the groupings in advance.
