Most newborn clients choose in-home. You've just come home from hospital, the last thing you want is loading a week-old baby into a car. And your own nursery beats any studio wall, because it's the room they actually came home to.
Maternity Photography Melbourne
Pregnancy portraits work best when you still feel like yourself in them. No stiff posing, no holding a position until your back aches. We direct gently and shoot the moments between the directions.
Best time: 28–34 weeks. Expecting twins or told you may deliver early? Aim for 26–30 weeks.
We shoot in-studio, at home, or on locations like Berwick Springs, Cardinia Reservoir, Wilson Botanic Park, Emerald Lake, or a paddock near Harkaway at golden hour. Partners and older siblings belong in these photos, including the ones who last eleven minutes before wandering off.
Newborn Photography Melbourne
Newborn sessions are the most time-sensitive booking of the year, and the one families most often leave too late.
The window: the first 5–14 days. Babies this young curl naturally into tucked-up poses and sleep through most of the session. After three weeks they’re more alert and less likely to settle into those classic shapes.
Book at 20–30 weeks pregnant. We hold a window rather than a fixed date. You message us when your baby arrives and we confirm a day inside it.
The session runs two to three hours, unhurried, because feeds and nappy changes are part of the plan. The room stays warm. Your baby is never placed in an unsupported position without hands in the frame. Parent and sibling photos are built in, not charged as an add-on. And you’ll have a sneak peek within 2 days, while you’re still in the newborn fog.
We do a lot of in-home newborn work and we’re comfortable in a house that isn’t tidy. Nobody expects it to be.

Cake smashes work best at 11–12 months, shot before the party so your images are ready for it. We do clean portraits first, then the smash, then a warm tub finish, which is usually where the biggest smile of the day shows up. We'll help you plan the palette so the cake, backdrop and outfit work together. Smooth buttercream photographs are far better than fondant.
Booking maternity, newborn and cake smash together keeps the whole set visually consistent and works out better value than one at a time. Ask us about a custom bump-to-baby package. We also shoot family portraits, extended family, grandparents visiting from overseas, four generations in one frame.
Baby Showers & Godh Bharai
A baby shower or godh bharai is an event, not a portrait session. It needs someone who knows the running order and can shoot an awkwardly lit function room without flattening everyone under harsh flash.
You get décor details, the ceremony, candids, planned family groupings, a portrait set of the mum-to-be, and a 3-4 minute highlight film. Photo and video booked together at one hourly rate, travel included. We speak Hindi and Gujarati as well as English, so nothing gets lost coordinating with family on the day.

Our studio is in Beaconsfield. We work across Melbourne’s south-east Berwick, Officer, Narre Warren, Narre Warren North, Pakenham, Cranbourne, Harkaway, Guys Hill and Emerald and travel further across Melbourne regularly. For in-home newborn sessions in the south-east, the $650 rate covers our travel to you.
