Pre-wedding · Pakenham
Pakenham is about 15 minutes from our Beaconsfield studio, and it has two spots we love suggesting for pre-wedding sessions: wetland boardwalks with reflections on a still day, and a lake path that picks up colour at sunset.
Behind J Y Productions are Jay and Yesha, a married couple who founded the business in 2018. We work in English, Hindi and Gujarati, and our newest couple sessions go up on @j.y_productions.
Boardwalks are great for walking shots and leading lines. The lake is ideal at sunset, when the water mirrors the sky. Both are easy, flat walks, so you can focus on each other rather than your footing.
We keep the session unhurried and plan a few stops close together.

We usually suggest choosing one main location and doing it well, rather than racing between three. A single spot with a few different corners gives plenty of variety and keeps the session relaxed.
In Pakenham, warm sunset tones on the lake suit golds, reds and creams.
For outfits, think about contrast with the backdrop: rich colours against green, soft pastels against water, bold colour against street art.
We meet you at the first spot in Pakenham, have a quick chat about the plan and start with a few easy frames so you can warm up. After ten minutes or so most couples stop thinking about the camera. We give light direction, like where to stand and which way to face the light, then step back and let you talk, laugh and walk together. If you are changing outfits, we plan a sensible spot for it in advance.
Message us with your location ideas and a few dates that work. We come back within 24 to 48 hours. You can enquire online, call +61 435 222 666 or email Hello@jyproductions.com.au.

Plan your session two to six months before the wedding. That leaves time to use the photos on invitations or at the reception, and to tweak anything about your wedding day plan after seeing how you like to be photographed.
Calm evenings give the best reflections, so we keep an eye on the weather in the days before.
Deep Creek Reserve, at the end of Cameron Way, has wetland boardwalks and sensory gardens. Boardwalks are great for walking shots, leading lines and reflections in the water on a still day.
Lakeside Park wraps around the lake off Lakeside Boulevard, with an easy, flat path of roughly one and a half kilometres. It is ideal at sunset, when the water picks up colour.
These are local public places couples often consider; we are not claiming past shoots at either.
Lakeside Park is dog friendly, so yes. Let us know in advance.
The lake for sunset colour, the boardwalks for greenery and leading lines. Many couples do both.
Often, yes, depending on the location. Some parks do not allow dogs, so we check when we plan.
Of course. Many couples do, which is a good reason to shoot a few months before the wedding.
A sneak peek within 2 days and the full gallery within 14 days.
