Janmashtami Celebration Photography and Video in Melbourne

J Y Productions photographed and filmed a Janmashtami celebration in Melbourne in late August 2026, covering the event in both photo and video. Janmashtami is a special occasion for the community, and we were glad to be part of it.

The ten photographs below were taken at a Janmashtami celebration in Melbourne in late August 2026. They show a large hall filled with a crowd in colourful traditional clothing, a group of men forming a human pyramid to reach a decorated Dahi Handi pot hanging from the ceiling, and a procession in which two men in orange robes carry large multi-hooded snake headpieces through the crowd. Other frames show an ornate carved wooden shrine decorated with fabrics and flower garlands, a decorated altar with deity figures, fruit offerings and a peacock backdrop, women dancing in a line in front of a red and white backdrop, and a group of women in bright saris smiling and clapping.

J Y Productions covered the celebration in both photo and video. Our studio is in Beaconsfield, South-East Melbourne, and we enjoy working at community and cultural events across Melbourne. You can watch a reel from this celebration on our Instagram, @j.y_productions.

Festival and community event photography

Our team covered the celebration so that the atmosphere, the key moments and the people were recorded. Photography and videography together give organisers a complete record of the day.

Content for future marketing

Coverage like this gives organisers photos and video they can use to promote future celebrations and to share with their community.

Memories for lots of people

A Janmashtami celebration brings a community together, and we are proud that our photos and video helped make memories for everyone involved.
